Do I need to register?
You can in principle visit the job fair without registering. But you will need to register for the following services: panel discussions, master classes, revision of CVs and interview simulations. Here you can register for the panel discussions and here for the master classes.
What’s the best way to plan my visit?
Pencil in the job fair date, time and location. You can find all the details via the CSAEM website. Decide as early as possible which events and services you’re interested in and check whether you need to register for them (see above).
Take a look as soon as possible at which companies will be taking part in the fair. Choose the companies that most interest you. The focus is on companies from the oil, gas, green energy, digital and agriculture sectors.
How can I find out which companies will be represented at the job fair?
The CSAEM will in advance use its website to publish the names of companies that are taking part. Current plans include 10 stands for companies covering job opportunities and 10 for those covering entrepreneurship and financing.
Where can I find information about the companies that I’m interested in?
Many companies have their own websites or use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn. This is where you’ll find lots of information, such as about the company itself, its products and services or even about career opportunities.
What’s the best way for me to prepare?
Good preparation is vital to getting the most from your visit to the job fair. If you’re interested in a company, for example, then make notes about it. Prepare questions about aspects that interest you.
Think about what your future employer would like to know about you. Write down the answers to these questions. Update your CV and your cover letter. Use these to highlight your experience and expertise. You should also review your social media presence. It shouldn’t include any inappropriate content or images that could dissuade potential employers.
It’s also worth preparing for services such as careers advice and master classes. Consider in advance what you already know or would like to learn. Also think about what information others need from you to be able to help you. Take the opportunity to ask your questions when you’re at the fair.
What should I take with me to the fair?
You can use a notebook and pen to record all the information you find interesting. Be sure to take enough copies of your CV and also take a USB stick containing your CV if possible. If you have calling cards, then take these with you as well. You may also want to pack a bottle of water and something to eat.
What should I wear?
Wear appropriate clothing. Choose neat clothes that aren’t too casual. Your clothes should match the professional context or the companies or jobs you’re interested in.
What should I do during my visit to the job fair?
Use the opportunity to swap ideas and learn. Be inspired and network! The companies’ stands will after all be staffed for 3 days. This means you have direct access to the companies to ask about different jobs and work areas, enquire about requirements and career prospects or take part in job interviews. You can also use the workshops and presentations to learn about different sectors.
